Planet Warriors was born from the wish to contribute to a better future for the children of today. When the first thought of creating this business came into my mind, I knew it needed to have a component of giving back - it wasn't just about the profit.
I then considered that a good way to link the business and the events back to the community would be to partner with a local charity to give them a fundraising opportunity and a chance to promote their causes.
There is no cost to attend Planet Warriors' events, but visitors are indeed encouraged to donate generously to our partner charity.
All very good on paper - one could say. How little did I know of how lucky I was about to get…..
I am incredibly grateful and proud to let you all know that Planet Warriors has partnered with Shooting Star Children’s Hospices for our next event on 8th October 2022.
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices cares for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. They support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional, and medical care. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, they are there to make every moment count. Their bespoke support is free of charge to families and includes a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family, specialist nursing care and respite, symptom management, end-of-life care and bereavement support.
They support 700 families living across Surrey and West London. It costs £10.1 million a year to maintain their current level of care, and with only a small percentage of income coming from central government and statutory funding, they rely on their supporters’ generosity to keep their vital service running.
I am sure you will agree that Shooting Star Children’s Hospices' cause is such a noble one. Those families in need deserve all our generosity, energy and goodwill. And as far as I am concerned, I will give them all I have. Are you with me?
